Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad) family, petitions IGP, Police Service Commission over his death investigation

The family of late Afropop star Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad), has expressed their disappointment and concerns over the handling of the investigation into his death by the Lagos State Police.

In a letter signed by Taiwo Odumosu on behalf of the Aloba family, they stated, “The manner in which the case has been managed raises serious questions about the officers’ professionalism, diligence, and integrity.”

The family specifically demanded the disbandment of the present team of investigators and the deployment of a crack team from the headquarters to unravel the death of their son.

“We request that the current team handling the investigation in Lagos be overhauled due to their unprofessional and shoddy handling of the case,” the letter stated.

The family also alleged that the police mishandled the crime scene, failed to respond adequately to their report, overlooked critical evidence and testimonies, and lacked forensic examination.

“The police’s apparent avoidance of investigating this critical area is concerning and suggests a serious oversight in their investigative procedure,” the letter said.

The Aloba family also raised concerns about a possible cover-up and lack of transparency in the investigation.

“It is imperative to question who the officers might be protecting, on whose instruction, and why such a high-profile case is being handled with such apparent disregard for standard investigative procedures,” the letter stated.

The family concluded by saying, “While we rely on the almighty God and your good selves to get to the root of this case, one thing is certain: If it takes ten years, the killers of our son will be brought to justice, and history will not be kind to every single soul that covers up the iniquity and inhumanity of man to such a promising youngster.”
