PMAN Suspends Pretty Okafor As President Indefinitely

PMAN noted that the infractions leading to Mr. Okafor’s suspension include unconstitutional actions, financial misconduct and violation of constitutional duties. 

The National Working Committee of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) has announced the indefinite suspension of Pretty Okafor as President of the association, effective immediately.


MAN, in a statement made available to Channels Television on Friday, said the suspension follows a comprehensive investigation into Mr. Okafor’s actions, which were found to be in gross violation of its Constitution and financial regulations.

According to the group, the infractions leading to Mr. Okafor’s suspension include unconstitutional actions, financial misconduct and violation of constitutional duties.

The statement noted that in the interim, Sunny Neji, who has served as the 1st Vice President, will assume the role of Acting President of PMAN in accordance with the PMAN Constitution.

Sowore released after brief detention at Lagos airport

The Nigerian Immigration Service initially detained Omoyele Sowore, the convener of the #RevolutionNow Movement, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday immediately after his return to Nigeria. This occurred on the same day that members of the Take It Back Movement and other activists gathered at the airport in anticipation of his arrival. Sowore had been in the United States with his family. His flight departed from Washington Dulles International Airport at 6:14 AM EDT and landed in Lagos at approximately 9:43 AM WAT.
